'I am delighted that it has started off so well and we are pleased with the photos and either you have grown tall or the houses have grown small. . . . Poor dear Rene I have no very good news to give you about him. He is very ill and is now in Venice which I don't imagine is any too good for him. His book is just out Babylon, it has some good stuff in it. Poor old Rene he writes sadly and his English which is very tender . . . makes it even sadder. Do write to him . . . .
